Mr. James Allen (Sonny Boy) Scott was born on March 18, 1938 to the late Mr. James Archie Scott and the late Mrs. Pernisha Locklear Scott in Scotland County. He departed this life into eternity on Friday April 09, 2021 at his home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: William McKinley Locklear and John Earl Scott. one sister: Shelby Jean Scott Tyler.

Mr. Sonny enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed planting vegetable and sharing them with his friends and family. Mr. Sonny loved old classic cars.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Bruce Allen Scott (Melinda), two brothers: Truman Scott and Hubert H. Locklear; four sisters: Barbara Scott McGirt, Peggy Locklear, Wanda Scott Clark, all of Maxton, North Carolina Rachel Scott Ammons of Laurinburg, North Carolina; seven grandchildren: Bruce Elliot, Brian Allen, James Allen II, Dakota Allen. Caleb Alexander, Amber Nicole, Brittany Lynn. twelve great grandchildren: a host of relatives and friends.
