Mr. James "Candy Rose" Stevens age 86 of Raeford, North Carolina was born on December 25, 1934, to the late Mr. Jim Stevens and the late Mrs. Lillie Long Stevens in Hoke County. He departed this life into eternity on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Cape Fear Valley Hoke Hospital. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, William "Bunchie" Stevens, granddaughter, Brittany Locklear, great-granddaughter, Corina Garcia.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife: Mrs. Essie Stevens of the home, three sons, Charles Ray Chavis (Lisa), Charles Ronald Chavis (Connie) all of Raeford, North Carolina; James Steven Chavis (Sarah) of St. Pauls, North Carolina; one brother, Willie " Buddy" Sexton Stevens (Mary Ann) of Raeford, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Brianna Chavis, Amber Nicole Tyler, Lynn Jacobs-Garcia, special friends, Lawaii Cheyenne Hunt and Justin Tyler. A host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
