James Earl Pierce, age 70, passed away at home on May 29, 2026. He was born on May 23, 1956, in Back Swamp in Robeson County NC .

James Earl was preceded in death by his parents, James "Cas" Pierce and NeEssie Seals Pierce; his sisters, Mary Lee Villa and Pamela Villa Borrero; his brother, Howard Pierce; and his two daughters, Ashley Pierce and Amber Lawson.

He is survived by his son, James Earl Pierce Jr. (Lynette) of Lumberton; his daughter, Tina Locklear (Phillip) of Leland; his brothers, Curtis Pierce and Casey Pierce (Ann) of Lumberton; his fiancée, Tara Knappenberger of the home ; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

James Earl was a skilled carpenter by trade and a proud veteran of the United States Army.

James Earl will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. He had a deep love for fishing and spending time outdoors, finding joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor, which brought smiles and laughter to those around him.

Above all, James Earl loved his family & friends dearly and cherished every moment spent with them. His faith in God was an important part of his life, guiding him throughout the years and bringing him comfort and strength. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
