Mrs. Gloria Chavis Locklear age 61 of Red Springs, North Carolina was born on April 24, 1960, to the late Mr. Benson Chavis and the late Mrs. Bernie Oxendine Chavis in Robeson County. She departed this life into eternity on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Moore County. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Locklear and Abigail Locklear, step-son, Ronnie Keith Locklear, brother, Lee Otis Chavis, sister, Wanda Faye Maynor.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 24 years: Roy Locklear of the home, one daughter, Berna Chavis-Broady of Red Springs, North Carolina, one son, Grady Chavis of Shannon, North Carolina; one step-son, Roy Mitchell Jacobs of Maxton, North Carolina; step-daughter, Shawanna Michelle Oxendine of Raeford, North Carolina; two brothers, Rev. Gene Truman Chavis and Zinford Chavis both of Red Springs, North Carolina; two sisters, Dianne Watson and Linda Chavis both of Red Springs, North Carolina. grandchildren: Ava, Noah, Emma, Austin, Polly, Cody, Rebecca, Victoria, Hunter, Nightlon, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
