Mrs. Geneva Barton age 71 of Maxton, North Carolina was born on September 11, 1950, to the late James Weaver "Red" Patterson and the late Otis Blue Patterson in Scotland County, North Carolina. She departed this life on August 13, 2022, at Duke University Hospital, Durham, North Carolina. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany Hunt, a brother Henry David Blue, and a sister Janice Chavis.

Mrs. Geneva leaves to cherish her memories her husband: Don Barton of the home, one son: Reverend Charles Barton, and wife Melissa of Maxton, North Carolina, and two daughters: Sherry Barton and Annette Hodges both of Maxton, North Carolina, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
