Mr. Gary Lee “Bones” Smiling 57 was born December the 5, 1968 to the late Thomas Earl Lee and Lizzanna Smiling in Scotland County. He departed this life into eternity on May 26, 2026 at home surrounded by loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Earl Lee Smiling and mother Lizzanna Smiling, his daughters Samanatha and Amanda Smiling, his son Joshua Ray Smiling, and his brother Thomas Labon Smiling and brother in-law Mike Brown. Their memories remain a cherished part of his story.

He leaves to cherish his memory by his wife Robin Smiling of the home, one son Christopher Smiling of Florida (Erin), two daughters Destiny Paige Smiling of the home, and Joshalyn Rayanna Smiling (CJ) of Laurel Hill, four brothers Robert Smiling (Rosie) of Florida, Clifton Smiling(Vivian) of Maxton, Donnie Smiling (Cynthia) of Laurinburg, and Donnell Smiling (Theresa) of Laurinburg, three sisters Betty Brown of Florida, Flora Jane Brewer (Oscar) of Red Springs and Annie Jane Clark (Ricky) of Red Springs, five grandkids Indie Rae, Arabella, Raylynn, Tripp, and Titus Smiling and host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Gary will be remembered for his gentle heart, his perseverance, and the quiet but unwavering love he held for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on in the lives of those he touched.
