Mr. Edward Sampson age 55 of Lumberton, North Carolina was born on November 04, 1967, to the late Yvonnie and Rufus Sampson. He departed this life on Friday February 24, 2023, at UNC Health Southeastern, Lumberton, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by a brother Patrick Wayne Sampson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 28 years Mary F. Sampson, two daughters: Marie Thomas (Keith), Gail Jacobs (James Matthew) all of Lumberton, North Carolina, five grandkids he loved dearly: Morris Lynn Hunt (Kiyah) of South Port, North Carolina, August Carter (Charlie), Shawn Hunt (Mackenzie), Abigail Jacobs and James Michael Jacobs all of Lumberton, North Carolina, three great grandkids that had a special place in his heart: Kyler, Colton, Evenlyn, and one on the way,  one brother: Ellery Sampson ( Michelle ), of Fairmont, North Carolina, two sisters: Deana Hunt (Gary) of Fairmont, North Carolina, and Shannon Sampson of Lumberton, North Carolina, a host of nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his dog Butch, his pig Arnold Feathertale and his roosters. He had a best friend Timmy Lewis, a special uncle: Earl Sampson (Florence).

Ed was a kind hearted man and always had a smile on his face. He loved his wife and family. He enjoyed fishing in the river, hunting, keeping his yard clean and working in the garden. You never heard him complain. His eyes would light up and a big smile would come on his face when he would get Chef Boyardee Spaghetti and meat balls at Christmas time.
