Mr. Eddie William Smiling Sr. age 67 of Maxton, North Carolina was born on March 11, 1955, to the late Lonnie Smiling and the late Frances Smiling in Robeson County, North Carolina. He departed this life on February 13, 2023, at UNC Health Southeastern, Lumberton, North Carolina. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Carol Jean Scott Smiling, his brother Anthony Smiling.

Mr. Eddie leaves to cherish his memories one son: Eddie William Smiling Jr.( Yulonda) of Maxton, North Carolina, a grandson he raised as his own: Joshua Allen Smiling (Beck) of Red Springs, North Carolina, a granddaughter he raised as his own: Cheyenne Angel Smiling (Kristen)of Bladenboro, North Carolina, two brothers: Andrew Smiling of Pembroke, North Carolina, Michael Smiling of Red Springs, North Carolina, three sisters: Debra Smiling and Vickie Smiling both of Maxton, North Carolina, Shirley Smiling Henderson of Red Springs, North Carolina, six grandchildren: Dakota Jacobs, Aaron Locklear, Eddie Smiling III, Eli Smiling, Lakeyn Oxendine and Chylon Scott, two great-grandchildren: LuLou McKinsley Smiling and Lootah Jordan Luka Smiling,  special friends: Donnie Scott, Harrol Richardson both of Maxton, North Carolina and Wanda Hunt along with a host of other relatives and friends.
