He departed this life on January 8, 2025, at Morrison Manor Hospice Care in Laurinburg, North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his wife Mildred Locklear, two sons, Allen Locklear and Jimmy Locklear, step-son, Ronnie Locklear, five brothers, Hezzie Locklear, William Locklear, John H. Locklear, Peter Locklear, Johnnie Locklear, one sister, Louise Locklear, one grandson, Dalan Jones.
