Mr. Dorsey Wayne Carter, age 78, of Red Springs, North Carolina was born on July 7th, 1948, to the late Golden Leslie Carter and the late Lucille Groves Carter. He departed this life on July 31st, 2026, at UNC Southeastern, Lumberton, North Carolina. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister: Essie Neill Carter Cain Vaughn, three brothers: Clester Carter, Eartle B. Carter, Leslie Gene Carter, and his maternal grandparents, Gold Carter and Thelma Smith Carter.

Mr. Dorsey leaves to cherish his memories two children: Angela Carter Locklear (Kelvin), Kimberly Hope Carter: two granddaughters, Kyla Alexandra Locklear, Torre Elizabeth Long (Cody): one great granddaughter, Sadie Grace Clark, and other family and friends. Mr. Dorsey was a skilled carpenter, and a lifelong car enthusiast who poured his heart into antique cars, especially Fords. He chased the thrill of fast rides and lived life to the fullest.
