Mr. Dewey Locklear age 79 of Maxton, North Carolina was born on August 11, 1942, to the late Nolan Bryant and Nettie Locklear, and departed this life on February 17, 2022, at Firsthealth Moore Regional, Pinehurst, North Carolina. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Susan Counts and son, Dewey Locklear jr, brother, Johnny Locklear, step-daughter, Theresa Lynn Barton, two grandsons, James Lee Hunt and Christopher Max Bullard.

He leaves to cherish his wife, Annie Barton Locklear of the home, three daughters, Lora Locklear( Melvin) of Red Springs, North Carolina; Janice Locklear (Chris) of Raeford, North Carolina; Penny Porter (Anthony) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; step-children, Jessie Bullard, Chris Bullard, Judy Bullard, Dale Henry (Ronnie) all of Maxton, North Carolina; four brothers, Bobby Locklear (Elizabeth) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Rabon Locklear (Mary) of Virginia; Carlos Ray Bryant (Donna), Ken Bryant (Evon) and Lindoyle "Cubbie" Bryant, all of Maxton, North Carolina; two sisters, Brenda Lee (David) of Raeford, North Carolina; Rudine Cooper of Maxton, North Carolina; special son-in-law Nigel Counts of Raeford, North Carolina; step-grandchild, Lynne' Barton of the home. ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
