Obituary

Detective Patrick Locklear, age 46, of Rennert, NC, transitioned to his eternal heavenly home on Sunday, June 11th, 2023, surrounded by love, family, and friends. He was born on August 6th, 1976, in Scotland County, North Carolina. Patrick was preceded in death by his mother, Ms. Frances M. Hunt; maternal grandfather, James Lacey Hunt; paternal grandparents, Richard and Utice Locklear; and step-grandfather, James Albert Locklear.

Patrick leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Casaundra B. Locklear of Rennert, NC, two daughters, Payton A. Locklear 7, of Rennert, NC, and Calondra L. Locklear 15, of Rowland, NC; two sons, Paxton A. Locklear 14, of Rowland, NC, and Keithan Strickland 24 (Danielle), of Pembroke, NC, one granddaughter, Kaisley Strickland; his father, Jackie Locklear (Diane) of Rowland, NC; and his grandmother, Mary Frances Hunt of Rowland, NC. He also leaves his sisters, Kim Locklear (Lee), and Melissa Locklear (Justin), his adopted sisters, Myra and Della Hunt, his father and mother-in-law, Ernest Bell III and Tammy Bell, and a large host of loving family, including his supportive brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, and the extended family he gained in marriage that welcomed and loved him as their own. Three very special cousins, Eugenia Walton, Mia Stone, and Tyler Paige Locklear, also his best friend, Michael Richardson.

Patrick had a true servant's heart, and during his journey on this earth, he served the public in several capacities, including as Chief of Rennert Fire Department, member of Red Springs Rescue Squad, NC State Corrections Officer, and officer of St. Paul's Police Department. One of Patrick's proudest moments was when he was hired as a Robeson County Sheriff Deputy, where he was recently promoted to Detective – his ultimate and lifelong career, dream come true. Patrick was blessed to find a brotherhood amongst his fellow law enforcement officers and first responders, as they served as an unlimited source of encouragement and support to him, his wife, and his children.

Patrick was a great man of faith and a minister of God's word. He inspired many as he shared his testimony and stood strong in his unwavering faith. He was a dedicated member of Restoration Assembly of God in Red Springs, NC, where he was the Youth Pastor and a great mentor to the Not Hidden Youth Group. His church family and his Garden Group stood with him and uplifted Patrick throughout his journey. Patrick loved spending time with his church family, learning and sharing the word of God. Patrick found great pride and joy in serving his community and coaching kids in a variety of sports, as he was an avid sports fan himself. He played multiple sports throughout his entire life, even into adulthood, as he traveled often playing softball, where he also made many great friends. Patrick also enjoyed playing golf and spending time with friends playing on different courses. Patrick never met a stranger and gained numerous friends over the years through sports and public service. Many were drawn to Patrick's calm, easygoing demeanor and his sense of humor. He enjoyed making memories with his wife, children, family, church family, and friends, and if you spent any time with Patrick, you quickly learned about the loves of his life: Jesus Christ, his family, and law enforcement. He was so grateful to have made so many memories with his family and friends during his childhood in the Evans Crossroad/Cabinet Shop Community and up into adulthood, as he shared so many stories and shared them often. Patrick's work here on earth has been completed, and seeds have been planted. May God now and forever more get all the glory from the life God allowed our loving Detective Patrick Andre Locklear to live.
