Deacon Emeritus
Sydney Hutchinson, Jr.
August 10, 1935 – December 8, 2022
Mr. Sydney Hutchinson Jr. was the third child born to the late Lucille and Sydney Hutchinson Sr. of Greensboro, Alabama on August 10, 1935. He was one of six children: Cleo Hutchinson Hill, Lizzie Dell Hutchinson, Dick Hutchinson, James Hutchinson and Jacqueline Hutchinson. He graduated from Hale County Training School in 1953. After high school, Sydney Hutchinson Jr. attended Alabama A & M University and graduated with a Mechanical Arts Degree specializing in Tailoring. It was while attending Alabama A & M that Sydney became an active, loyal member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. After graduation, he remained an active supportive member of the Alabama A & M University Alumni Association.
Deacon Hutchinson transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest with his heavenly father on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, North Carolina. Deacon Hutchinson is preceded in death by his wives, Mrs. Willie Pearl Prater Hutchinson and Dr. Rhoda L. Kirkpatrick Hutchinson and one grandson, Archie White II
He is survived by his son, Virgil L. Hutchinson, Sr. and Bert Hutchinson, Maxton, North Carolina

Interment will follow in Huntsville Memorial Gardens, Huntsville, Alabama
