Mrs. Clara Sheppard Bryant age 88 of the Prospect Community entered into her heavenly home on Saturday August 8, 2026, reunited again with the love of her life, her husband Mr. Charles Alton Bryant, on their 70th wedding anniversary. She was surrounded by loved ones at her home. Clara was born on March 26, 1938, to the late Ms. Earlie Pauline Sheppard and the late Mr. William Luther Jones. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Alton Bryant and a brother Richard "Buck" Sheppard.

Mrs. Clara was an instrumental person in bringing services and guidance to battered and abused women and children in the Prospect Community. She was awarded many accolades for her achievements. She held employment at BF Goodrich, Director of the first Welfare office for the communities of Robeson, Hoke, and Cumberland, NC Council on Status of Women, UNCP Student Lounge, Managed the family farm, Director for battered and abused Native Women of Robeson County.

She is survived by her children: Charles Anthony Bryant (Susan), Marcus Jacobs, Teressa Pauline Bryant (Randy), Phyllis Gail Bryant, all of the Prospect Community. She is beloved by her grandchildren: Alyssa, Jason, Jessica, Peter, Jordan, Savanna, Lauren, Rachael, and Christian, her great grandchildren: Caleb, Alexsya, Chloe, Takoda, Kaden, Kason, Marcellus, Levi, Jaxon, Sofia, and Zeke, great great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Aiyana Claire, Adalynn, Alton, one sibling: Doris Brewington (Bill), a host of nieces and nephews and longtime friends.
