Mrs. Charlotte (Lois) Chavis age 82 was born on October 02, 1942, to the late Bennie Emanuel and the late Mary Alice Chavis in Robeson County, North Carolina. She departed this life to her eternal home on November 11, 2024, at First Health Hospice House, West End, North Carolina. Mrs. Charlotte was the loving and devoted wife of the late Carl Chavis, with whom she shared 54 years until his passing. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Adrian Chavis, sisters, Rosie Mae Chavis, Judy Clark, Aree Locklear, and brothers, Jack Chavis and Albert Locklear.
Mrs. Charlotte loved to travel, shop, and spend time with her family and friends. She was a faithful lifelong member of Cherokee Chapel Holiness Methodist Church, where she served in a variety of roles, including Assistant Lay Leader, Lay Leader and Assistant Secretary, as well as a Lumber River Conference Delegate. Mrs. Charlotte was also a member of Cherokee Elders group quilting club. She volunteered with Children's Bible Ministries and enjoyed making donations to several children's hospitals and orphanages. Mrs. Charlotte enjoyed visiting the sick and shut-ins and baking cakes to share with them. Mrs. Charlotte will be remembered for her dedication to her family, church, and community.
Mrs. Charlotte leaves to cherish her memories, two sons: Ernie Chavis (Brenda) of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Timmy Chavis (Darlene) of Maxton, North Carolina, one daughter: Karen Chavis Clark of Maxton, North Carolina, one brother: Delton Chavis of Maxton, North Carolina, five grandchildren: Ana Chavis Audet of Crestview, Florida, Maranda Strickland of Maxton, North Carolina, Alec Chavis of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Zachary Chavis and Mason Clark both of Maxton, North Carolina, four great grandchildren: Braydon McMillan, Michael Sagona, Jr., Maverick Audet, Carlson Chavis, a special niece: Crystal Blue, along with a host of other relatives and friends, a special thanks to her caregivers: Molly (Cookie) Locklear, Madison Chavis, and Sabrina Clark.
