Betty Jane Locklear age 85 of Red Springs, North Carolina was born on July 21, 1937, to the late Harlie Harris Locklear and Lula Jane McGirt in Marlboro County, South Carolina. She departed this life on September 1, 2022, at Open Arms Nursing Home, Raeford, North Carolina. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her four brothers, Clyde Chavis, Donald Locklear, James A. McGirt, Bobby D. Locklear. four sisters, Mary Harlene Bullard, Betty Lou Rogers, Venus Jacobs, Marie Locklear, brother-in-law, Winford Rogers.

Ms. Betty Jane proudly served her country in the United States Army in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) from 1956-1958.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three sisters, Carolyn Locklear of Mississippi, Cindy Lewis of Laurinburg, North Carolina; Mable Chavis of Delaware, one brother, Robert Redell Locklear of Raleigh, North Carolina; special niece, Jacqueline Bullard, and husband Phillip Bullard the man of Ms. Betty's life. special niece, Dawn Locklear, and special brother-in-law, Arlie Jacobs. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives, and friends.
