She departed this life into eternity on April 17, 2025, at Scotland Memorial Hospital, Laurinburg, North Carolina. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Lowery, a brother, Joe Jacobs, sisters, Deloris Hammonds, Wanda Chavis, Valearn McLeod, Alisa Hammonds, the father of her children, Bruce Prevatte.
