Mrs. Annie Cummings was born on April 23, 1946 to her father and mother, Kenny and Mary Bell Chavis and passed into her heavenly home on May 15, 2026.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters: Pearl Clark, Margaret Locklear, Shelia McLean, four brothers: Howard Chavis, Donnie Chavis, Leonard Chavis, Tommy Chavis, one daughter: Rachel Cummings, and one grandson: Dale Alton Locklear, Jr.

Mrs. Annie Cummings loved singing in the church for many years with her daughters and nieces. She sung many years at Temple Baptist Church, where she was also a member for many years. She also enjoyed going to yard sales every Saturday with her friends, Betty and Nobalene. She loved working outside, planting flowers and a garden. She also loved fishing.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters: Patty Cummings of Red Springs, NC, Juanita Cummings of Raeford, NC, Threasa Chavis, one son: Larry Dean Chavis (Kristy) of Rowland, NC, five sisters: Mary Sturdivant of Raeford, NC, Pattie Faye Chavis of Raeford, NC, Caroline Chavis of Red Springs, NC, Jane Ellen Jacobs (Arnold) or Laurinburg, NC, Kathy Rogers of Red Springs, NC, two brothers: James Chavis of Red Springs, NC, and Larry Chavis of St. Pauls, NC. Ten grandchildren: Natavia and Selena, of the home, Samantha (Malcolm) of Sanford, NC, Brandon (Jayah) and Josh of Red Springs, NC, Tanesha and Marvin of Raeford, NC, Dewayne, Austin, and Natalie of Rowland, NC, two great-grandchildren: Zih’Meir and Hunter, special friends: Elaina Locklear and Nobalene Locklear, and a host of other relatives and friends.
