Andrew Vernon
Locklear Jr
January 7, 1975 – June 14, 2023
Mr. Andrew Vernon 'Andy' Locklear, Jr. , age 48 of Grayson, Kentucky formerly of Catlettsburg, Kentucky and Elrod, North Carolina was born January 7, 1975 to Mr. Andrew Vernon Locklear, Sr.. and the late Mrs. Connie Roberta Oxendine Locklear in Robeson County, North Carolina. He departed this life on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 in Kissimmee, Florida.
Along with his mother he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Russell Locklear and grandmother, Lizzie Locklear, and maternal grandparents, Henry Berry 'H.B.' Oxendine and wife, Sadie Sampson Oxendine.
He leaves to cherish in his memories, a son, Braydon Andrew Locklear of the home, and a fiancée, Stacy Petty, of the home. His father, Mr. Andrew Vernon Locklear, Sr., of Rowland North Carolina. (Ruby), two brothers, Jerome Locklear (Heather) of Ashland Kentucky and Phillip Locklear (Jessica) of Rowland, North Carolina.
Andy was a loving father, and dedicated partner to Stacy. He enjoyed working with his hands, and had become a master builder and carpenter in the last years. He was proud and excited at the building of his dream home on his farm in Grayson. His biggest joy and pride was his son Braydon. The love for him is captured in pictures, captured in memories of those who seen his interaction with Braydon, and captured in the hearts of those who loved him. He always wanted to be a father, and was a joy, and a mentor to many of his younger cousins, nephews and niece. He had a special bond with his brothers, Jerome and Phillip, and a special bond with his only niece, Kaitlyn. During his relationship with his fiancée Stacy, he had grown to love her family as his own, and shared many memorable moments with her brother, Tommy Petty. Andy was determined to succeed in life, and fulfill his dreams of living a long life with Stacy and his son. He left everyone that loved him way too soon, but his absence is in body only, because his smile, his laugh, his love for family and friends, and his bigger than life spirit will linger on within us all forever. So to Andy, it is never goodbye, only, until we see you again!
