Ms. Tular Ethel Locklear age 88 was born on September 14, 1931 to the late Quicy Hughes and the late Kathleen Velma Capps Hughes in Horry County, South Carolina. She departed this life to eternal life on September 26, 2019 at Scotland Memorial Hospital, Laurinburg, North Carolina. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Herbert Leon Mahar and Johnny C. Locklear, one son Jackie Mahar, two daughters Wanda Hunt and Jeanette Mahar, four brothers Buddy Hughes, Pete Hughes, Walter "Mann" Hughes, E B Hughes, three sisters Lila Watson, Wilma Sellars, and Margaret Garland.

Ms. Tular leaves to cherish her memories two sons Leroy Mahar and Leon Mahar both of Red Springs, North Carolina, four daughters Velma Hunt, Karen Hunt, Cindy Bryant all of Red Springs, North Carolina, Diane McMillan of Laurinburg, North Carolina, one brother Michael Hughes of Thomasville, North Carolina, four sisters Carolyn Safriet and Marilyn Skipper both of Archdale, North Carolina, Melua Spivey of Sophia, North Carolina, and Sharon Gasque of Trinity, North Carolina, eighteen grandchildren, thirty nine great- grandchildren, eleven great great- grandchildren, a special friend Wade "Snag" McMillan and a host of other relatives and friends.

Homegoing Services for Mrs. Tular Ethel Locklear will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2019 at Heritage Funeral Home, Red Springs, North Carolina. Visitation will be Monday, September 30, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.
