Mazie (McNeill) Melvin

Mrs. Mazie McNeill Melvin was born on November 21, 1934 to the late Bessie Mae West Melvin. At the age of four her mother passed away and was raised by her grandparents the late Mr. Hezzie McNeill and the late Mrs. Emma McNeill.Mazie went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday July 19, 2019 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, North Carolina surrounded by her loving family. Mazie was preceded in death by her son George W. Melvin, grandson James Melvin Jr., stepson Luther Alan Melvin and her beloved aunt Mary McNeill.

Mazie is survived by her devoted sons James Melvin Sr. of Red Springs, NC and Richard Melvin (Patti) of Charlotte, NC, her loving and devoted grandson she raised James Melvin II "Jamie" of Red Springs, NC, seven granddaughters Billie Jean, Shanika, ReKeshia, LaTreacha, Tashay, Shakenia, and Shanice, three great granddaughters, one great grandson, a special daughter that she loved dearly Alice Williams of Fayetteville, NC, devoted cousins Clara McCormick of Red Springs, NC, Lem McNeill of Alabama, John A McNeill and Charles McNeill both of Red Springs, NC, Jackie Holland, Vivian McNeill and Cathy Chatman all of Fayetteville, NC, her extended family Manse Ross, Michael Ross (Cynthia), Gary McLean (Tasha), Larry Brown (Lagirtha), Freddie Brown (Pam), Hardin Brown Jr. (Kim), Terry Brown, Frances Henderson (Edward), Bert Hutchinson ( Virgil), Annie Brown, her caregiver whom she loved as a daughter Ashleigh Baker of Pembroke, NC, her faithful friends Shirley McNeill, Charles Murray, Nancy Andrews and John "John-John" Patterson and a host of other relatives and friends.
